What is the separate peace in the book, "A separate Peace"?

Does it refer to the two main characters, Gene and Phineas, one dead (at peace) and one alive at the end? 2601:644:9281:6520:81D8:1C7C:5931:FBB9 (talk) 07:37, 15 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
